Dr. Percy Miller is a highly experienced neurosurgeon and medicolegal specialist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. With a career spanning more than four decades, he has dedicated his professional life to the treatment, understanding, and evaluation of complex neurological conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system.
Today, his work combines extensive clinical insight with medicolegal expertise, providing careful, independent assessment of neurological injuries and complex neurological conditions.
Medical Training and Qualifications
Dr. Miller qualified as a medical doctor from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1975. He went on to complete specialist surgical training, earning his Fellowship in General Surgery (FCS) in 1980 and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1983.
Throughout his career he has remained committed to ongoing professional development, completing numerous advanced training courses both locally and internationally. These include specialised training in:

Since 2019, Dr. Miller has incorporated a pain management clinic into his practice. The clinic operates from the Centre of Advanced Medicine, where he currently consults.

In March 2014, Dr. Miller transitioned a large portion of his practice to medicolegal reporting, where his extensive clinical neurosurgical background provides valuable expertise in the evaluation of neurological injuries and complex medical cases.
His work involves preparing detailed independent medicolegal reports and providing expert opinion for both plaintiff and defendant attorneys.
His experience in this field is extensive:
960 medicolegal reports completed while in private neurosurgical practice (1991–2014)
Over 2,000 additional cases undertaken since entering full-time medicolegal work
Court appearances in approximately 70 matters as an expert neurosurgical witness
